Bilum is an interactive installation for an ethnographic museum, which makes it easier for visitors to access the important information about a string bag made by hand in Papua New Guinea, without putting the original object into the shadow.

Digital media is used in more and more museum for the presentation and information transfer. How far is it possible to use digital media to support the museums exhibition design? And at which point do they destroy the mission and objectives of an museum? These are the questions asked in Ulrike’s thesis.
